Flyfishing the Sandy and
Clackamas RIvers.
January through May

January through May we guide Winter and Spring Steelhead on the Sandy and Clackamas Rivers.

The Sandy River originates on the slopes of Mt. Hood. Located east of Portland; the Sandy River produces good numbers of winter Steelhead.

The largest run of wild steelhead enters the river January and continues through May. It is fishable most of the time and fishes well from 700 to 4,000 cfs.

We offer day floats on the “wild and scenic” portion of the Sandy. This river is perfectly suited to be fished in the classic wet fly swing using a sink-tip. Two handed “spey” rods are very effective.

Come catch trophy steelhead on the Clackamas and Sandy Rivers. We offer day floats on both rivers. These rivers are perfectly suited to be fished in a classic wet fly swing. Two handed Spey casting is very effective. Your guide will always have lunch, flies, and a few rods to demo. All of the knowledge of catching steelhead will be passed on to you by teaching fly selection, reading water, mending and casting.
